There is this commercial on TV for those toilet bowl cleaners that hook to the rim of the toilet instead of in the tank. Perhaps you've seen it. They say, "ever worry about leaving those bleach tablets in your toilet tank?" and their solution is the in-bowl ones. Well, my answer is always "no, actually, I don’t worry about leaving those bleach tablets in my toilet tank."
Should I worry? What are they getting at?

I don't know what they are getting at. I have no idea why it should be a health hazard. Bleach is suppose to kill bacteria..that's a good thing, right?

I tried their in bowl one and I hate it...I'm going back to the tablet in the tank.

Elexina, companies make money by making reasons for you to buy their product rather than another product... sometimes the reasons are designed to make you worry about possible repercussions (health worries, etc). There is no risk for having tablets in the toilet tank, they just wanted to make you worry to promote their product.

It's not a "health" concern. It's a "product" concern. The bleach tablets that go in toilet tanks make the water very strong and the additives destroy the inside mechanisms of your toilet after extended periods of time.

This sounds like a very misleading commercial.

Thanks, everyone. That's basically what I thought. I just couldn't come up with a reason that I should be worrying about the tablets and since they didn't explain themselves at all, I figured it was b.s.
