I am currently researching HEMIHYPERTROPHY, a condition that 1 out of 14,000 babies are born with that involves uneven growth and development. I would appreciate any personal knowledge or links you have, as information is pretty scarce. I've already tried Google, WebMD and other popular search engines. Thank you!

Hi Samantha! Thank you for your quick reply! But, alas, I had already read Dr. Greenes article. The other article, although quite interesting, is not the same condition as hemihypertrophy. My search continues!! Thank you again!

Depending on your level of experience and interest, you may want to try a university library. I did a search for the term and found over 400 articles, but they are mostly not available online, and those that are require a subscription.

Methos5000! Thank you for the tip! I had started down that road by sending for an article from The National Organization for Rare Disorders (some places also charge fees for articles!) and I now believe that type of search is where I will have to get most of my information. I admit I was looking for an easier way...but this disorder is not fully understood, even by the doctors I've spoken with about it. Thank you, however, for your quick reply!

Just what I was going to suggest, Methos. A library is an invaluable resource.

Elexina & Methos5000! A doctor I spoke with also suggested I try the medical library at our local hospital. That is going to be my next step. Actually, finding info about young children with hemihypertrophy is quite easy...but I have found that little or no follow-up research has been done with adults or elderly who are afflicted with it. I really appreciate your interest in this subject!
