I know that pregnancy can exacerbate problems with your teeth, bleeding etc. Well, it happened to me.

My gums have receded quite a bit and they are bleeding. Is there anyway I can have my gums return to their original "layout"?

Once gums recede they cannot be pushed back into original alignment - that can only be corrected with gum surgery where tissue is actually grafted to the gum line. But I don't know how pregnancy could have caused your gums to recede like that. Mine are receded but it took many years for it to happen and they receded because my teeth are extremely bulbous and quite large for my jaw. Nor did they bleed while they were receding.

I think you should make an appointment with your dentist. You might be in the throes of the beginning stages of periodontal disease.

Definitely Sher, get into the dentist. In the meantime, be sure to floss gently but diligently.

I've battled gum disease (hereditary) for over 20 years, and eventually lost my upper teeth just recently. We're doing all we can to save the lowers, so I'm going to be seeing a periodontist next week.
