What's something else a doctor that kids check-ups would keep in his pockets?
Well, the doctor doesn't actually keep that in his pocket, there are battery recharging stands they rest on while not being used (they can also be heavy with the battery, so it is a bit cumbersome to carry around with you in a pocket.
A
Stethoscope is a commonly used assessment tool. These are used to listen to sounds the body makes. By listening to the sounds, nurses and doctors can often tell that there may be something wrong by what the sounds are like.
Another instrument a doctor might use is a
Rubber Hammer. This is designed to test your
reflexes.
Many times the doctor may want to check your throat and mouth. She uses a
Tongue Depressor to do this.
Some doctors have a special sort of flashlight/tongue depressor device.
Medical personnel use
Exam Gloves to protect both themselves and their patients. Open cuts in the examiner's hands can both give and recieve germs and bacteria, risking infection spread.
