Honilov, I know what you mean. I have 2 sons (ages 5 and 7 yo)that are autistic. Only problem is, Autism is a genetic disorder often caused by missing strands of DNA. There is no way to cure it. But potential parents can get tested to see if they are at risk for producing children with this very destructive condition. I, too, wish my boys could be "cured".. the best I can hope for is they will learn to adjust to their deficits and maximize their strengths and become happy adults.

Another good one is, "So you die healthy. So?" As I understand it, the primary problem with cancer is that it is not one disease, but a hundred or more. And with some, they are approaching a "cure" - the death rate for childhood leukemia has dropped dramatically in the last few years, am I right, Sid? About heart disease, I think the mechanical heart and organs grown for transplant may solve that problem, eventually. For AIDS, it's only a matter of time (and money). By which time, smallpox will be back! And why concern yourself with death? When your number comes up, it comes up. Catty(who lives life to enjoy it, however long or short)
