Can anyone tell me why when me and my husband have to call for our kids, like down the street, we both have chest pains? I am , or soon will be, 41, and hubby will be 52. My hubby has pains all the time, I don't tho. Just in the chest is all.I wonder if it is all the yelling?? Maybe we need a night ALONE? Just to kick back? I think our hearts are getting tired...
Skye.

Well the obvious answer is check with your doc. But you already know that.

When mine were little a had a brass bell on a little table next to the front door. I'd ring that, the sound carried for blocks! I hate yelling, so I would even give one 'ding' (drop the clapper once against the bell's inside) even if I were calling them inside the house.

I know we need to check with Doc. But I just wondered if the yelling may contribute to the chest pains??

Never heard of that one. Maybe someone who yells a lot could answer. Know any hog callers?

Yelling CAN cause a spike in blood pressure, especially if you're mad. Chest pains are not something to ignore, get yourselve to the doc for a complete check up.

That would explain the light-headedness we get when we yell! And my chest get;s tight when I get mad! Just an OLD fart I guess!!

Do either of you know how to whistle? That's how I used to call my kids - the very loud whistle where I used two fingertips against the tongue. Seems like it would be less demanding on the lungs.

...or hang an old fashioned dinner bell or triangle on the porch and use that instead of lung power to call the troops in... but please schedule that appointment- Chest pain and lightheadedness are NOT signs of good health.

No, we can't whistle that loud! A Canary is louder than us! Maybe I should get a whistle, or as someone said, a bell. Great ideas! Thanks!
