Okay, so I get these headaches. Now I can't find the excedren (buried in the kids 'triangle' I think, hence the headache )
SO, I drank a whole pot of coffee and took some tylonal (tylonal usually does not help at all). SO, could it be the caffeine that's getting rid of it??

well, Pup usually drinking alot of caffeine will cause not cure a headache..I have no idea why your getting them of course. Now maybe you cut off the caffeine and were having a withdraw type of headache?...hope it goes away for you..

caffeine causes blood vessels to constrict; one of the treatments for migraine is a drug called cafergot: it's chemically similar to caffeine. So: yes, the caffeine can treat a headache under some circumstances. As was said above, it can be a vicious cycle, in that caffeine use can lead to headaches when withdrawn.

One of the reasons why Excederine works so well is because one of the ingredients is caffeine. Look at the bottle. It is 250 mgs of asperin, 250 mgs acedominifin(sp)and 65 mgs caffeine.
I always buy the generic brand because the ingredients are the same, just much cheaper than name brands. btw, if you look at what's in Excederine and compare it to what is in Excederine Migraine, you'll see the are the same.

Caffeine can treat a headache to an extent, but drinking a whole pot will most likely add too it. Too much caffeine is never a good idea in any case.
