Since being in the hospital, I've come to be taking all sorts of differnt medacation. Some of these are perscribed at every 2 hrs, every 3 hrs, every 6 hrs etc. Ive come to find there is a "Letter" system to denote to the nurses when to administer each med. Something like "P-R-N-G" "P-R- - ", etc.
What are these and what do each stand for. ?
Thanks Mike b. (AKA Byter)

Doctors, especially in hospitals, are now being urged to abandon these Latin abbreviations and to more-or-less fully spell out the instructions. This is in response to many cases of misinterpretations due to illegibility.
For example, in a sloppily-written "qid" the "i" may be mistaken as a period, changing the meaning from 4 times a day to once a day.
