Do you think blood pressure cuffs in public places such as pharmacies and supermarkets are very accurate after the public - including children - have used/abused them?

their susposed to check those out every so often is what I was told once by the pharmist. I would have to go with no I think they are not accurate like of course going to your doctor they shouldn't take the place of that. First your blood pressure is different when your up running around or spending money (like at the drug store),and if you have a bigger arm or smaller one those cuffs are all one size and I dont think they fit accurate. But, this is only my opinion...

I have found them to be very accurate. My blood pressure rarely fluctuates. I get the approximately the same reading each time I use them no matter what store.

My kids are great for victimizing those machines thinking they are for entertainment purposes when they get bored shopping. When I catch them, I have to grab the brats before they get me thrown out of the store.

Agreed, they are not a good substitute for a check up. They are good for keeping tabs on your own so that you can be evaluated if you see readings too high.
