I just got on Medical Insurance, my doctor who I have seen for years, and years and years is not covered by the insurer (Kaiser) I get this page for selection (Doctors Needless to say this is not very much information for selecting a doctor.

Cornerstone where my partner goes has a few nice doctors, unfortunately it doesn't look like they are accepting new young members, I am years away from Medicare.

Maybe I am wrong but I'm thinking that I'm going to have a very personal relationship with this person, this person is going to see and touch parts of me that no one else will - thus one would think that there would be some process that would allow me to learn a little more about these doctors to make an informed selection.

Is there any useful tool out there which tells me more about these people and that will help me to make an informed choice????

The Kaiser has been here for at least 6 years, not that many doctor's offices (in my mind)

I'm uncertain how to go about interviewing, I am struck at how Kaiser strikes me as a "Not Burger King" in that I am not going to get it the way I want it - LOL

Thanks

As far as interviewing, simply call the doctor that you are considering, and tell them that you are looking for a new physician, and would it be possible to arrange a time for a consultation. At least thats what i did...

And yes, Kaiser is decidedly unlike burger king..(interesting way of phrasing it , by the way!)

Take Care, and Best of Luck

P.S. You might want to try here and also here

Hope these can be of some help!
