You can't...at least not in GA. You can contact your state medical board to ask about the laws in your state. And you would file a complaint through your state medical board. But in GA, complaints and investigations are considered confidential by state law, O.C.G.A. §§ 43-1-19(h)(2) and 43-34-37(d). Therefore, the Medical Board is prohibited by state statute from disclosing to the public investigative information or complaint information.

However pursuant to O.C.G.A 43-34A-3 (c) (17)(A)(B)(C) some information regarding certain malpractice judgments and/or settlements is available on the physician's profile.

Thanks Georgia, I had posted somewhere before about IF my sister-in-law's ankle that she had surgery on to alingn it and it wasn't healing was normal...that was a few months ago and she is still after more than six months swollen and in pain...the doc refuses to do anything, he won't even take an x-ray of it. I am betting he has previous complaints and want to see if I am right. I'll let you know if I find anything out!!

Heck, if my doctor would refuse to provide care... I'd get a second opinion.

She is getting a second oppinion....she is just worried about cost issues and that the implant he used to "fix" her ankle may have to be taken out and most likely won't be covered by insurance and missed work time, etc... He has a patent on this implant that he uses or recommends to everyone who walks through his office...I worked for him and he said I needed one, but I had NO insurance at the time so I couldn't.
